About Emi Booth

I'm a fully qualified music therapist in Edinburgh, registered with the Health and Care Professions Service (HCPC). I graduated with a BMus with Honours in Music from the University of Edinburgh in 2020, and with a Masters in Music Therapy from the University of Derby. Since graduating, I have worked in a wide variety of settings in Derby and Edinburgh, including working with clients with dementia, eating disorders, neurodivergency and more. 

 

Within my work, I have a special interest in adapting therapy for those with disabilities and neurodivergence; especially for Deaf people/those with hearing loss. Every person is unique, so I believe their therapy should be unique to match, so I pride myself in adapting music therapy to fit your physical and emotional needs. I have presented work at the British Association of Music Therapy's 2024 Conference, and you can listen to a podcast about my presentation here.

 

I am currently part of The Recovery Centre (Edinburgh), where I provide verbal and music psychotherapy, as well as a part of the NHS Lothian Arts Psychotherapies team.
